"Christmas cookies with fondant decorations"

I used a ready made white fondant and colored with gel food color.

Fondant shaping techniques used:

1. Embossed fondant:

I used a textured rolling pin on the christmas tree, a rubber cookie stamp on the snowflake, and a wooden textured plastic to make the bottom of the snowglobe.

2. Molded fondant:

I used silicone molds for the small christmas trees (on the snowglobe) and for the green ribbon (on the christmas tree).

3. Modeling fondant:

I created a 3d effect on the sleigh folding together two ropes of fondant.

4. Cutout fondant:

I also used several fondant cutters to create small cut-out pieces to attach (for example the white snowflakes on the green tree and  the holly leaves on the sleigh).

The peppermint swirl candies (only the purpose of the photo) are made also of pieces of fondant.

Excellent work. I particularly like the crispness of this set. The amount of texture as well as the amount and the proportion of colors are perfect for this design style. Everything is very well done. Do you work with fondant often? Were there any techniques here that you tried for the first time or experimented with?

Thank you!

I use fondant mostly one way: adding small bows or mini roses (using a silicone mold) on the cookies with royal icing.

Adding a base layer with fondant was my first time and I really liked it, especially because I could make textured base layers, so I think I will keep experimenting with this in the future 😊

That's great to hear! The textured base layer really does take it up a notch.
