When I saw the baked contoured cookies, it reminded me of the clay cooking pots in Sri Lanka. All these cookies are from different circle cutters. I have embossed the lid of one pot. The various hues of brown add an interest to these pots just like the cooking pots back home.

I cut various circles and placed on different sized silicone spheres and baked them. Once baked I painted with food coloring.

Of the molds I have so far used for contoured cookies I find the silicone mold and metal works well.

The textured rectangle cookie represents the woven mats that are used to serve food.

I love how beautiful contoured and embossed cookies can look with no icing - this entry just proves this point. You achieved such texture and depth just in the dough itself and by accentuating it with different paint colors. Moreover, I LOVE how your entries always tell us something about your culture, so I thank you for sharing yourself with us as well. ❤️

And, yes, silicone is going to be the easiest molding substrate - cookies pop right off it. With metal or glass, I sometimes lightly dust them with flour first, and I always immediately loosen cookies from those molds once the cookies are baked. If the cookies cool down on those two surfaces, they will definitely stick. Obviously, there's no such sticking issue with silicone.

P.S. I can't express how much joy it's bringing me to see everyone's immensely creative entries come in. I never thought of making some of the things you all have created, and now I am super inspired to come up with some new ideas! Thank you, everyone, for brightening my life and igniting my enthusiasm. (I will also post this comment under the main challenge post, because it really belongs there for all to see.)

Well done 👏 @Zeena,I would like to ask you the light open colour I front is from fondant or?I like mostly the topper of cooking pot the texture brown one❤

Thank you dear Petra @Petra Florean. Yes it is fondant. I cut a rectangle piece of dough and baked it on a silicone mold. I embossed the fondant on a silicone mat texture and covered the cookie.

Thank you Julia @Julia M. Usher. All thanks to you for teaching these techniques to us. I have learned so much since I joined Cookie Connection. Thank you for the tip on baking on glass and ceramic.

I sincerely thank you Julia @Julia M. Usher for being the best teacher ever. I believe only the greatest teachers can bring the best in their learners. Thank you for your time.

Zeena, what a beautiful display of contoured cookies!  I was pretty sure that, after watching Julia’s demo, everyone would have more tools for translating real-life inspiration into 3-D cookie designs, and that even more ideas will come their way. It made me happy to read that when “you saw the baked contoured cookies, it reminded you of the clay cooking pots in Sri Lanka”. And here you are inspired to create them in cookie form. Thank you for posting also the pictures of your inspiration.

I totally agree with you, Julia. So much creativity in every single entry so far, so much sharing and so much inspiration and fuel for new ideas. Thank you for being the first featured guest and for your amazing demo! As I said to Zeena, I was pretty sure that, after watching your demo, everyone would have more tools for translating real-life inspiration into 3-D cookie designs, and that even more ideas will come their way. Each and every entry so far proves that. So happy about this!
