Well... finally I have finished my set of Bride and Groom Quilled Wafer Paper Cookies.

I have used regular Quilling tools,  to make the Little Bride and Groom Birds, Champagne Glasses, Rings, Leaves on the heart Cookie and the body of the Cake.

Different Paper Punches for the hearts, flowers and the cake dish.

The cookie dough is tinted black and has icing only on the edges. I used gold paint diluted with  drops of vodka to paint the wafer paper and icing.   The flower centers are gold dragees.

What was really quite a challange was the Quilling it self... the wafer paper  kept on craking. I almost went mad!!  I had to leave it for 24 hours in a tupperware with half an Apple so it could absorb a bit of humidity with out getting too wet.  My mum would always do that with ginger cookies if they were too hard!!

Well, I hope all the information needed is here. If  I have forgotten anything... please ask me!!!

Thank you so much for these challenges, I love them!!

These are absolutely gorgeous!  I love the tip of putting the wafer paper in a container with half an apple to make it more pliable.  Your mom is one smart cookie!

Yes she is!! I´ll tell her... she will be delighted!!

Beautiful!   Thank you for the tip with an apple, this really helps me and wafer paper smells also apple?  probably?

Ha ha ha.. when you open the tupperware, it smells lovely!! The Apple must not touch the wafer paper... be carefull

Tell me how it goes...

Outstanding Alison.  You definately overcame your apprehension about using wafer paper.

The color combination is elegant, and the motifs are perfect. Using a paper punch to make the cake stand lace is ingenious.     Well done.
