These are incredibly gorgeous as always! I wonder how small the pumpkin and chestnut on the pocket are because you said your cookies aren't so big in the Sweet Sharing chat.

 

By the way I really enjoyed reading your Sweet Sharing chat! I'm surprised to know you put only 15 grams icing in your piping bag.

 

I use only small cello cones for piping lines, which is common in Japan, and I like it because it's easy to control and I can hold like a pen, as you said.

Hi! I am so happy to hear you read my chat; yes, my cookies are not very big....the dress is 8 cm x 6 cm about. I heard that in Japan is not allowed to use RI mixes that come from other countries, I always wonder how you can create such works of art with a different material. Thank you so much for your kind comments, I send you the biggest hug ever ❤️

Officially, we can't use cookie decorating stuff from other countries that are not approved. I use only egg white powder and sugar for RI so that's fine. The problem is we don't have many choices of food colour or luster dust. As for Wilton colour, only about 15 colours are available as food, and Americolor gel isn't approved at all. Also we have only ONE ivory luster dust that is arrproved though we can buy other luster dust like sugarflair as "craft material."

Can you share what food color brand you use for your painting? Do you use water or alcohol to dilute? Please share any tips about painting on the cookie. I always break the surface no matter how delicate I try to be. I can not imagine getting that much detail without the icing disintegrating first. Thank you.

Hi Michelle! Americolor gels. I use a little bit of water, it destroys icing, you are right! My paintings are made with fast, small strokes; this squirrel has been made using only a brush: 000. If you try to make shadows with water it is normal that your icing surface melts

Interesting as this is what I want to try now after watching Nadia at CC. I have tried using a very small bag like a pencil when I have only a small amount of icing left and want accents.. it might just be a normal practice from now on
