Practice Bakes Perfect Challenge #19-Molded Cookies

I so enjoyed this challenge. I have never made molded cookies. It was so much fun. I watched Julia’s video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4CrqtwAvY8

Black background – sugar veil mat was used and the cookie painted with black gel color

The roses were colored before baking.

The photo frame and the vase was colored using airbrush colors.

The frame was a little hard because I hesitate to bake in the mold. My edges did not align but I covered with the leaves.

I love that every element of this cookie vignette is either molded or embossed. Great job. (I love molding cookies too! )

Thank you Julia @Julia M. Usher. I am so happy I learned this technique through this challenge and from your videos.

There is a nice mixture of texture with this entry. Your molded cookies turned out great. (It's hard to believe that this was your first time working with this technique.) You've done an excellent job with the composition, which emphasizes all of the stunning textures. Since this was your fist time making molded cookies, did you encounter any challenges . . . and do you think this is a technique you will use in the future?

Thank you Christine @Sweet Prodigy. I struggled with the picture frame. I did not bake the cookie in the mold. I molded it took it out and baked it. I definitely like this technique. Many people these days do not like the added sugar from frostings. This is a great way to make cookies look great and taste great too.

I agree, and your entry is a perfect example of this.
