I wanted to keep the rough look from the previous set and keep the white color, but still wanted the cookies to be more sophisticated. That's why I painted the cookies with a large brush first and then piped the pink RI on top. It gave me that rustic look I wanted with a bit of a patina, which would, in my opinion, go well with the baroque filigree in style. The random swirls I swop with a bit more organized filigree  I changed the sky blue with pink and added gold, because I love that colour combo and, of course, goes well with the filigree. Now...the real challenge for me were the roses. I just keep on not doing them nicely, so I decided to try ribbon roses. And since in this set they are going to perform only a decorative function, I thought it is a good idea. Hope you all like my new Valentine set! DSC00218StValemtine

I think your ribbon roses look just gorgeous. It is amazing how, by swapping little more than a few decorating techniques, you can create a set of cookies with such a completely different look and feel. Lovely!

Thank you, Christine! I was afraid the roses are not so good, but still there's more practice needed

I have been thinking about "heart-shaped cookies" which I am not good at decorating at all.  This set is very lovely, Zara.  Just perfect for Valentine's Day.  And again you made me think I should try heart cookies.

Thank you, Ryoko @Ryoko ~Cookie Ave.! You should definately try them, why you should ever think you're not good at decorating hearts?! I am sure they would be lovely! It's so nice you want to try, like real friends do - they inspire eachother all the time. I like this very much! Now I want to do t-shirt cookies very much.. xx
