I admire how you try what you haven't done before! You also know very well what could have been better, so you really learned a lot! I especially love those cute little details on your cookie, the pictures on the wall. Great work Lisa!! ❤️😘  @LisaF

Thank you dear Gabi. This was quite the stretch for me!😆😘

This is another great entry. You did an excellent job with the perspective. I remember learning about perspective drawing in school. This is a one point perspective, and it looks like the bottom of the mirror is the vanishing point. One tip is to have all of the vertical lines in the floor lead to the vanishing point instead of having them run vertically and parallel to each other. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for the pointers Christine.  I drew a rough sketch on paper and then with an edible marker on the cookie.  In hindsight, I probably should  have played around more with the drawing before I started icing.  A pencil and eraser is better suited for fixing things!!!

Challenge 8 – Architectural Cookies.  Because I have made a number of gingerbread houses over the years, I wanted to stay away from cookies depicting something I have already done.  Doors, windows and traditional external architectural elements fell into this category.  I also wanted to stay away from stained glass because I played around with those in another challenge.  So, I decided on a grand staircase.  It was much harder than I anticipated!  I had a real problem with depicting spatial relationships and depth.  I thought about making it 3D at one point.  I ended up scrapping the idea but it probably would have resulted in a cleaner cookie.  I was all over the place about whether or not to add a bannister.  This staircase turned out more cartoonish than I had planned but I really learned a great deal.
