Carol! These are absolutely gorgeous! You should definitely keep art deco in your repertoire. Knocked these outta the park, my friend! Brava!

Thank you so very much dear Christine!! It's your work that was my inspiration @Bakerloo Station! I'd love to comment and credit your Thanksgiving work if that's ok with you . ❀️❀️❀️ Hugs...

Art Deco decorating has always been a challenge for me which is one reason why I decided to make this set. My inspiration comes from a dear cookie friend, Christine Donnelly, @Bakerloo Station . I love her work and have followed her for many years now. Her recent Thanksgiving set blew me away with its vibrant color and detailed piping. She kindly gave me permission to include this cookie set in my comments ❀️. You can see her set at the bottom.  My art deco doesn't come close to her precision and skill with Art Deco styling but what a joy it is to learn from one another here on CC ❀️❀️❀️.

My work is not consistent with the bold, vibrant colors as defined in the history of Art Deco. But I love the white, black and gold combination (plus I had icing left over from a recent order ).

I found this definition and history on Wikipedia which fascinated me:  "Art Deco, short for the French Arts DΓ©coratifs, and sometimes just called Deco, is a style of visual arts, architecture, and product design, that first appeared in France in the 1910s.

Art Deco combined modern styles with fine craftsmanship and rich materials. During its heyday, it represented luxury, glamour, exuberance, and faith in social and technological progress.

From its outset, Art Deco was influenced by the bold geometric forms of Cubism and the Vienna Secession; the bright colours of Fauvism and of the Ballets Russes; the updated craftsmanship of the furniture of the eras of Louis XVI and Louis Philippe I; and the exoticized styles of China, Japan, India, Persia, ancient Egypt and Maya art.

As you all know, 3D cookie decorating has to be one of my favorite techniques since my very first glimpse of Julia making one of her amazingly creative projects. Many, many thanks to you, Julia @Julia M. Usher, for your kind and generous sharing of knowledge that you've amassed over many years!!

Wonderfully eye-catching, Carol! And thanks for the very generous shout-out!

Thank you Julia. I have always been drawn to the linear style of art deco (the architecture is truly amazing). Transferring the style to cookie art has never been a strength. Seeing Christine's, @Bakerloo Station, beautiful application of the style onto cookies gave me some confidence to try it.  She has a wonderful artistic eye!!
