Well, once again, here ya go! I know a fun lady who lived in a shoe. Please enjoy. Much work. Many starts and restarts. Lovely gingerbread (brown sugar, egg, molasses, butter, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice, salt, flour) cookie sometimes

1-cut and glued with RI 2-sometimes molded, when baked. 3-Sometimes broken and reglued, 3.5- died fondant lending a hand when needing some quick edits. 4-all the boot was “washed” by brushing with a wet brush to smooth out the outer texture. 5-laces were added with fondant, and 6-stitches with RI. 7-Cuts were made to little ginger bread men and reglued with RI to make the appearance of movement possible. 8- cherry pull and peel Twizzlers (which smelled so absolutely delightful when the package was opened) were used as my swing ropes. 9- I wrapped rice paper over each child’s hand to hold the swing and the put RI over to disguise. 10- all little guys and trees are held up Paper-doll style with a cross support made of broken gingerbread pieces. I googled high top sneakers to see where the stitch patterns and soul stripes would fall as well as other  small details would look, but mostly just drew my ideas from pictures in my head and went from my sketch (included).
I was inspired to redo this nursery rhyme, after raising my own 6 kids and now running a daycare, my life is filled with children. Delightfully fun set! Enjoy

@Kim Damon, this entry is super, but I'm not seeing the "2020" that is supposed to be on it per one of the challenge rules. This means we can't consider it for a Spotlight or for the prizes. Am I just overlooking the "2020"? Are you okay not having it in there, or do you want to resubmit with a "2020" on it?

Wow Kim, what an incredible cookie project @Kim Damon!! You did such a great job molding the shoe. You're definitely braver than I would be to work on such a large scale project like this! It turned out awesome my dear ❤️❤️. I know what you mean about the stops and restarts Ha Ha. I've been there SO many times!! I'd call your shoe a wonderful success ❤️❤️❤️ Hugs...

Hi Julia, The little boy has 2020 on his shirt and sweatpants and the back of the shoe above the window has 2020 as well.

Okay, thanks. I definitely would not have spotted it there. My old eyes are not so good any more!

I had it in the back (originally) was tired by the time I got to that part (not even finishing the back off)  and then forgot the year had to show. So when I changed the photo, I really wanted the year to seem part of the decor and part of the scene. It was my mistake.

Six kids and a daycare, wow! This is absolutely the perfect gingerbread house (or shoe, to be precise) to show the meaning of "home." There is so much attention to detail in your shoe, which really makes it look so realistic, including all of the techniques and different media that you used. I love how you have staged your whole scene and I absolutely love your poem. ❤️ A very impressive entry on so many levels!

You’re so kind, thank you!
