Lilac and Pink

There's no way I could pipe a grid so perfectly! I used my favorite mat to achieve the perfect canvas. Yay! There's nothing like having the right tools to help us cookiers create works of art . A special credit goes to both Michele Hester of SugarVeil (https://www.sugarveil.com/sugarveil-story) and Julia @Julia M. Usher for their collaborative work in the design of this awesome mat!!  Thank you both .

I am often inspired by the many gorgeous works of Manu @Manu biscotti decorati  She uses this same mat to create the perfect canvas for several of her designs . Her tennis racket was the first of many projects that really stood out in my mind. You can see it at https://cookieconnection.julia...com/clip/tennis-manu.

The technique of overpiping with 2 colors as I did on my heart cookie is not original. I've seen it many times throughout the many hours of scouring through hundreds of beautiful artistic cookies. I don't know who was the originator of the idea but it's a really beautiful technique. I have lots of practice yet to do in order to perfect it but it was a fun cookie to make .  I'm just glad I wasn't making 150 of any of these cookies like Lisa does each week @LisaF HaHa. But they were all fun to make as part of the set of cookies for my mom's 86th birthday ❤️

Oh Carol, this is such a beautiful set! I love the colours you used, the pink over purple looks stunning. But the lace work is beyond gorgeous! Your Mum has a loving daughter 💕 Such a neat gift 💝

Oh Heather,  you are always so very thoughtful and kind. Thank you ❤️. I haven't seen my mom in at least 3 years . She doesn't live close by any longer. I can't travel that far anymore and really miss her. We speak often .

I love the striking color combination and how you have been able to blend so many techniques flawlessly. The set is looking so perfect and in harmony that it takes a second look to really understand the amount of work behind every single cookie! Just beautiful.💜🎀💜

You are so right Heather @Heather Bruce Sosa!! Technology helps to bridge the miles between us. She's got an old style phone rather than a smart phone so I can't "see" her when we talk. Hearing her voice, though, always uplifts my spirit ❤️. I am so thankful to God for the close relationship that we have. Be safe and well my dear friend!!
