Challenge 16 โ€“ Roses.  I enjoyed this challenge though it required more discipline than I usually display!  Most of the time, I make short cut flowers that I can duplicate easily for 100 plus cookies.  It was good for me to spend time focusing on basic technique.  I have always struggled with the 101s tip โ€“ this time was no different!  I hadnโ€™t completely thought through the composition before I started.  Once I had the fence up and roses in place, I felt like it needed something.  I channeled my inner Julia with a stamp and paper wafer embellishment, which turned out to be just what was needed. I had a lot of fun with this challenge and the stamp fits my daily intention!

This is a beautiful entry. I'm glad you added the butterflies and the message; they really complete the design. Piping roses is one of those techniques that improves with practice. Your roses have a wonderful organic feel with the different sizes and varying degrees of openness. This cookie should be framed and placed for all to see.

Thank you so much Christine.  I was glad to have the incentive to play around with traditional roses.  I've really become a corner cutter in so many ways.  It's good to practice things that I don't use very often!
