I wish I could pipe straight and perfect lines like Christine. I first saw this string work many years ago when it was a rage in the cake world back home. I had seen a demonstration on a circle shape. For this challenge I wanted to pipe on a heart shape. I used royal icing made with egg whites. I used a PME tip 1. I also strained my icing through a new knee high stocking which made the piping flow easy. I am thankful to Christine and Julia for stirring my memory and give me the opportunity to practice this string work piping. I definitely need more practice in piping straight lines.

Wow Zeena, these hearts are awesome!! Thank you for sharing all the little secrets behind the scenes and the step-by-step process! Great job, dear friend!♥️

Thank you dear Heather. It was fun.

Oh how lovely Zeena @Zeena!! You've done such an amazing job creating your stringwork hearts. I love the dimension you've achieved by piping so many layers. And you've perfectly placed each layer directly on top of the previous layer. Simply beautiful work my dear ❤️❤️❤️.

Thank you so much for your explanation of how you created the perfect icing for piping stringwork. I, too, read about preparing RI in exactly the same way you described to achieve such a smooth flow for stringwork. Again, great work!!!

Thank you dear Carol for your wonderful feedback. Waiting to see your beautiful work.

@Zeena Your stringwork hearts look phenomenal. Just being able to line everything up the way you did is impressive.  How many layers did you pipe? Do you have any side view photos? My guess is that these two cookies look even more impressive in real life than they do in the photos!

Thank you Christine@Sweet Prodigy. I think it was well over 15 lines in the center. I am including a photo of the  side view of the cookies.  The height in the center on both cookies were almost 1 inch.

I'm glad you shared the side view since it really shows all of the work that must have gone into creating the layers. I love how you have so beautifully reimagined the original circle shape as delicate pink hearts that are set off perfectly by the gold roses. Excellent work!
