I love color, or as we say in Canada, "colour"  .

I lamented for weeks about what sort of elaborate design to create. Then, three days before it was to end, I realized that this challenge was all about colour. Quelle surprise! I'm pretty sure I'm the odd one out here, but for me, this challenge meant creating something where colour was the star of the show and design was secondary, and for this reason I chose a pinwheel, which was the simplest design I could think of.

Overall, I'm glad I participated in this challenge as it got me thinking about using coloured flooded icing as the main element of my design - something I would like to do more of in the future.

And please excuse the sloppiness of this set and the randomness of the colour placement. I had less than a day to hand cut and bake the cookies, transfer the pattern, and flood and pipe, all while packing to go away for the weekend.

Cool, Christine.  I mean, "cool!"

Ha! Thanks, Ryoko!

It is really amazing to know straight lines can make so many things.   These pinwheels look like "made with cardboard".  To me straight line is only one straight line, just short or long and no idea comes out what to make with straight lines.   You are amazing.

Thank you, Ryoko. It does look like cardboard. I just put the lines in to give it some texture because the icing looked a looked a bit plain on its own.

Beautiful, Christine ❤️! First thing that came to mind, when I saw them was what a fun shape for kids to eat!

Thank you. And you are so right, Sonja. I should definitely do these for the school bake sale!

Oh Christine, what an awesome idea!!! I absolutely love these designs and your perfect piping is shown at its very best...simply gorgeous

Thank you, Carol. This was not my usual "sit quietly and focus" piping but this set has definitely given my ideas for future projects!

You nailed the cool greens!  Well done!  Those are the trickiest of all of the cool shades, I think.  I also like how you used the lines on the pinwheels to create texture and shading.  Are the piped colors exactly the same as the flood, or are they slightly lighter?  It is hard to tell whether the difference in shade is real or just the play of light on the raised lines.
