Tea drinking is a part of my daily life. It was a legacy left by the British when they ruled Sri Lanka.

I thoroughly enjoyed this project.

Tea Pot: Made by molding dough of a metal tumbler then once the halves were baked it was smoothened and attached with royal icing. I pained with pink air brush color.

Tea Container: The mold was draped over a metal cookie cutter, then the halves were baked and attached.

Tea cup and saucer: The tea cup was a circle baked over a contour. The handle is gum paste painted in gold. The saucer was baked over a tiny saucer.

Tea strainer: I molded cookie dough on a measuring teaspoon, then cut around the perimeter to the shape of a tea strainer. I then made holes with a skewer before baking (Sorry forgot to take photos)

Lids: The lids were embossed first before cutting and then baking over silicone molds. I than painted with gold dusting color mixed with alcohol.

Handle and spout: I shaped the dough then baked it. Painted with gold dusting mixed with alcohol.

Flowers and leaves: The flowers were cut and baked on silicone molds. I painted it with gel colors.

The most challenging part of this was the record breaking hot weather in Los Angeles and humidity, made my cookies soft once it cooled. I could not neaten or smoothen the edges as it was crumbling.  Other than that I was a great learning experience.

Thank you Julia and Manu for a wonderful challenge.

Oh I just love this creation Zeena @Zeena ❤️. How fun that you incorporated something in the challenge that is part of your daily life!! Beautiful work, my dear cookie friend. I really like the teapot and cup shapes and the contrast between the embossed lid of the teapot with the painted teapot sides. Super well done. ❤️❤️❤️Hugs...

Thank you dear Carol @Cookies Fantastique.

Wow - another wonderful entry, Zeena! What food coloring (brand) did you use to achieve that rich red? And is it water- or alcohol-based? (I know it can sometimes be hard to get opaque, saturated colors on dark dough.)

Thank you Julia @Julia M. Usher. I first brushed poppy paint pink. Because the dough was darker the color looked dull. I then painted over it with  Americolor air brush pink. I simply loved the end result.

If you add their whitener to their paint, it will make it more opaque (and, of course, lighter too). I usually only use it with added whitener, as, as you said, the colors look dark/dull on gingerbread.

Thank you Julia @Julia M. Usher. Thank you for the tip, I believe you mentioned it in your demonstration. I totally forgot.

What a lovely tea set, Zeena! And it is all made of cookies. So glad to see that you were able to recreate into cookies something that is part of your daily life. And the shape is not a limit anymore. The donuts of your previous entry go well with this set.
Thank you for sharing how you made each shape and for incorporating many of the techniques showcased by Julia.

Thank you Manu @Manu biscotti decorati. Thank you for your time.
