Once I tried to clear isomalt candy and I dropped some water on it and the candy got all cloudy.   So I think painting the candy with water is all wrong.  Right?

Thank you Ryoko for liking it! I have painted directly on clear isomalt with Americolor gels, very few water indeed. The surface has become a little bit sticky after the painting was finished so, I sprayed a flood glazing spray to make it glossy and dry

Thank you @Cookie Me This ~ Heidi! I enclose a pic of the spray I have used, it is edible shellac spray. It is an Italian product, I have bought it in the school/shop where I teach in Milan. This doesn't contain water or fats (not good for both royal icing and isomalt!) ...I have just found this one online for you by PME, ingredients are not written but in the feedbacks there is a lady that writes it was good for isomalt too! Thank you Christine! It is like they are floating but it is not, I think it is an effect due to the clearness of isomalt and strong light above it while taking the picture!

Yes! Everything is correct! I have discovered that isomalt is easy to be painted and piped with RI too. Painting cannot be realistic as I would like because the surface melts a little bit while working but in the end really looks like stained glass, so I like the final result very much!

Evelin,  It couldn't have been more realistically painted. It's perfect and has that magical stained glass appearance.  Brava

Yes! Everything is correct! I have discovered that isomalt is easy to be painted and piped with RI too. Painting cannot be realistic as I would like because the surface melts a little bit while working but in the end really looks like stained glass, so I like the final result very much!

Thank you for liking it! The isomalt part size is about 10cm x 12cm, not so small

Dear Carol, the 'transparent glass' you see is clear isomalt, handpainted and framed in a cookie frame. So happy you like it! ❤️
