I first came across 3D cookies by accident. I was antique shopping and saw a set of 3D cookie cutters that were manufactured in the '60s as a promotion for Crisco. HAD to have them! When I couldn't figure out how to decorate the darn things, I turned to cookie experts on CakeCentral (it really saddened me when CC turned its back on so many cookie decorators!). I still couldn't do the cookies justice, so I came up with my own 3D cookie designs and even put together kits. I can still remember how excited I was when the shipment arrived from India of the cutters!

I haven't done many 3D cookies for quite some time, but am ready to jump back in. I have some sketches ready to go and now just need to find the time. I still get a bit of a thrill whenever I see someone post a unique 3D cookie creation, and can't wait to see what gets posted in this forum!

I didn't even know there was such a thing as 3-D cookies till I started clicking around on different blogs. I created 3-D Easter baskets as a gift for some friends this year. I didn't think I would ever get the handles to stand up, but after they dried you could actually carry them by the handle. I was so excited.  I've learned so much since Easter I can't wait to make them again next year.

Would love to see your baskets, Michele. I have a set with contoured sides that I recently posted to my site and this one. The handles weren't exactly functional though!  http://cookieconnection.juliau...oured-cookie-baskets

I have them on my FB cookie page. My laptop died and the only pictures I have are on my phone. I didn't make the bunnies or eggs on them. https://www.facebook.com/photo...p;type=3&theater

Super cute, Michele!

These are some of my 3D cookies. They are all made with marshmallow "bodies", covered in icing, and glued into place with melted chocolate. Please forgive my terrible photography skills!

Really clever idea! Nice!

These were a lot of fun to make! My husband gave them to one of his secretaries who was getting married (a second marriage for both bride and groom), and she still has them (it was y-e-a-r-s ago!) She even had me repair them when one of her grandchildren got a hold of them and broke them. Didn't want new ones...had to be the originals.
