Hey, sorry for this brief lapse into self-promotion, but I'm pretty proud of this recent move and thought you might be interested to know some of the things I do when I'm NOT on Cookie Connection (which, recently, hasn't been often)!

For the last seven years, I've served on the Board of Directors of IACP, aka the International Association of Culinary Professionals, and last week I ascended to the Presidency! It's a volunteer position, which generally has taken 20 or more hours of my time EACH week. But it's well worth it. The group is the world's largest cross-disciplinary association of culinary professionals with about 3,000 members, and much like Cookie Connection, it exists to foster education and career development - but in every facet of the culinary industry. I've given the group my heart and soul, and, in turn, it's been a life-changing experience for me.

Members include such culinary luminaries as Anne Willan, Rick Bayless, Ruth Reichl, and Jacques PÉpin, and we normal members have the opportunity to network with everyone of them!

Anyway, as you can see, I'm pretty jazzed about the group. Whether you're a seasoned culinary pro or just getting started in the industry, you might be interested in checking it out . . . www.iacp.com.

Here's my complete inaugural Presidential letter.
