Joanna - I have certain topics featured in every forum so they get noticed when people enter the forums, and I would like to be able to do this from time to time. However, any such topic shouldn't show up as new every day unless it was newly added, which it wasn't. Perhaps you can send a screen shot of what you're seeing to help me troubleshoot? Thanks.

Joanna - I only saw the topic you mentioned posted as new the day it was added, though it did post to every forum because I featured it in all the forums. I only do this with certain posts, so you will not see every admin noticed featured this way.

Hi, Joanna, There were no other news topics that day, just the one I posted in all the forums and it only appeared that day. Perhaps as posting by others picks up, admin notices will be less noticeable. From time to time, I will be posting important admin notices to all forums, so they are seen on the site, but they only ever show up in the Daily Digest on the day that they're posted.

I realize this creates more postings in the Daily Digest on the day that a new forum topic is featured, but I cannot control features on the site independently of those in the Digest. (They are controlled by the same "switch".) I also feel that the inconvenience created in the Digest is offset by the benefit of having certain posts visible to everyone when they enter the forums. One such example is the site photo posting guidelines. I find several people each day who have either not read them or have not understood how to apply them; my time spent directing members to these guidelines (an hour or more a day in the past) has been greatly reduced by having that post featured in every forum.

I hope you will understand my rationale for making this trade-off. And, as I said, it's a rare admin post that I feature in every forum (so far 3 or 4 in about 55 admin posts), so you will not see this affecting the Daily Digest every day.
