An airbrush is expensive initially, and I want to try some accenting, smaller areas, or marking with a template before I spend too much. I have seen videos online for making a simple airbrush out of parts from household objects (such as a pen) with canned air, or blowing canned air over the tip of a marker to create an airbrush effect. Wondering if this would work with an edible marker? How does the appearance of this technique compare with a real airbrush? Have any of you tried something similar?

No, too much hassle for me! I'd rather buy a cheap, starter airbrush or use canned spray colors. Interesting idea though - more power to anyone who went the extra mile to try this! I'd be interested to see results of any experiments.
