Hey lovely bakers,

I am currently looking for a white surface/backdrop for photographing my cookies. Everything I tried so far reacted to the butter and left greasy stains. What do you use for your picture where you get a nice look but also able to reuse it.

Thanks, Nina

For my tutorial photos when I want a plain white background, I use an art canvas that I picked up at Michaels. It has some kind of coating on it so it can be wiped off with a damp towel. I’ve yet to find anything that can stain it.

There are so many vinyl backdrops now available online (any of which could work), but I rarely put my stuff directly on any background. I prefer to add plates and such to create more of a real-life vignette.

Above is just one such source. I haven’t used this company, and their backdrops may be larger than what you need, but they are both glare-free and grease-proof. So many other sources too.
