Does anyone dip their cookies instead of flooding? I am planning a large number of cookies for Easter and thought that perhaps it would save time to use the dipping method to get a good base coat on many of them instead of flooding each one, however I am a little scared of the idea. I tried some very early on in my cookie decorating and wasn't thrilled with the results, but it enabled me to do two small cookies without having change out the colors in the bottle I was using at the time, since I had very limited supplies at the time.

Does anyone have any tips for success or recommendations? Even if you think I should not try it, please say so! Thanks!

I only dip in limited applications - on contoured cookies that are hard to flood because they aren't flat, or on cookies where I want to completely conceal the edge. I'm not sure how much time dippin would actually save on a large run, as I always spend a fair amount of time cleaning up edges where the icing pools. Plus, it's so darn messy - lots of stopping to clean hands, etc.
