Maybe this is silly and everyone just sits at a table with a regular chair :-)  I was wondering if anyone has a more specific stool or work chair they like.  I am working on my dedicated bakery space and I need something counter height - so 24 inches high.  I am trying to decide if I want swivel, back or no back, etc.  I don't want to spend a lot right now but some day I'll buy something nicer!

Thanks!!

Amy

Good question!   I like a chair on wheels so I can easily move around in it, if I want to be further from or closer to my work surface (for instance), or so it can easily be moved out of the way if I'm cleaning the kitchen or the floors. I've always worked on chairs with wheels, throughout all of my days in my bakery. Just normal office chairs, nothing special.

I decorate at my dining table since I live in a small condo.  The chairs don't roll (which I would like) but they do have a back...which I really like as I lean back to relax my shoulders and get an over-all look at what I've done.  I also don't have padded chairs... when I decorate I grab a cushion so that my butt doesn't go numb!

I have a shop chair that I "borrowed" from my husband.  It is adjustable in height and rolls so that I can switch sides easily.  Small back and arms so that you can lean back but still it doesn't get in the way.  The best part is that the seat is padded (reducing the dreaded numb butt) and it is vinyl covered so I can clean it up easily.

Funny you should ask...I literally just bought four new plain ole black (pleather- so they easily wipe off) adjustable secretary's chairs at Walmart...they adjust to the right counter prep table height and they DO NOT have arms...so they fit nicely without having to be lowered because of the arms...The chair says that it's appropriate for sitting in 8 hours...so far so good...no complains! Oh..and they do have wheels.

Ok, try this!  I found this chair for $45 on amazon.  It has no wheels and isn't padded but it is PINK!  LOL!  Maybe some of you will understand :-) I think I have to keep this and may also get a cheap desk chair with wheels in addition to this!  Oh, and despite no cushion it is pretty comfy!!

This really helped me decide on wheels.

Hi, Doodlebug, You can post a photo here and in any of the forums. Just start a comment and click on the big green plus sign at the bottom of the comment box (called "Add Attachments"). You can upload a photo there, and you will be given the option to either attach it or embed it directly in your comment, as I have done with the screenshot of this comment, below. I look forward to seeing the chair you selected!

Hi, Amy! You should be able to upload images from your phone too, though there are some OS requirements. All spelled out here: http://cookieconnection.juliau...from-a-mobile-device

I just want to be sure you get the most possible out of Cookie Connection no matter where you are! So now we need a picture of the room that is home to the new chair!

Thanks!  The chair is in the room in that pic, so that is my new wall color and pink trim and lovely new 96 inch long SS work table.  I will wait for everything else to be done before taking more pics though :-) I am still trying to figure out how much and for what people use the forums.  Not sure about where I can chat about certain things.  Like every time I move trays I think "what if I dropped this and list all these cookies" and think that would be a good topic LOL.  I will spend more time reading and looking at them!  I would love to get to know some people here a bit more!  I really appreciated being able to ask about the chairs!

I use a stool. I've tried sitting at the kitchen table, but I feel weird when I do. My favorite spot to decorate is at my kitchen counter at the corner. I place my cookies right in front of me and have easy access to things I may need on the right or left side of me. I'm able to sit comfortably right up to the counter since I'm at a corner and don't have to worry about my knees being cramped or bumping the cabinets below. I will have to look into a chair with wheels! Never thought of that and it would make moving around a lot easier.

I have a counter height chair/stool. It is on wheels, swivels and has a short back, no arm rest and is 26 inches from the floor. It is adjustable and is about 30 years old but still looks great. I love it.
