I have seen a few cookiers post pictures of their newly purchased Rainbow Dust ProGel food colors, but no reviews. I am curious to hear from anyone who has used these products and how they compare to Americolor soft gels.

For anyone not familiar with these products, here is a link: http://www.rainbowdust.co.uk/t/our-products

I can't get the Americolor gels where I live, so it's either the Rainbow Dust Progels you've mentioned or Wilton I can get hold of. So far I have bought the red and black in the Rainbow Dust gels, and both of those colours, compared to Wilton are very much better. You don't need nearly as much and they don't taste or smell bad and they haven't bled when I have used them, though they do seem to run out pretty quick the pesky things!

Sorry I can't compare them to the Americolor ones but for me they're certainly a big improvement on the Wilton gels so far. I will slowly be replacing my hoard of Wiltons with them as I go along.

I have about 10 colors. You definitely don't need as much coloring, which I like.  The red dries very matte for me, even in front of a fan. I like the look, but not everyone does.  The pink is kind of flat in dimension, but I love the ice blue.  The ruby makes a great deep pink if you add just a little.  If mixing colors, I recommend starting with the lightest color. If you start with the darker color, the lighter one won't change it much, if at all.  I don't have that problem with Americolor.
