Hi everyone.

I just finished these (photo should be attached), but totally unhappy with how they have turned out - the client wanted a muscle arm (recipient is a trainer) and a windmill (he works for the company who makes them).

It just looks a big mess to me - and also I think a bit boring? I was trying to bring the different elements together but it's just not working for me. Do you have any advice on how to rescue them? Or should I just start over? I just about have enough time to do something else.

Thanks so much for any advice.

Marie

Beside that I like them and don't truly think you need to change anything, but if you truly are not happy with them, here's my idea:

Make the muscle arm the landscape, like it was rolling hills, and place the windmills on top of it

That sounds a great idea Laegwen - thank you so much. Whether it might be a bit beyond me - I think I am a bit of a nervous wreck at the moment which is probably why I am being hard on myself. The lines on the windmills is what's mostly getting to me. Thank you so much, I have maybe been staring at them too long and need to look again in the morning. Have a lovely evening

My pleasure completely!

Oh thank you Econlady, that's very kind and does make me feel a lot better - I am hoping I might like it a bit more in the morning - my husband has hidden it from me - all to the good. I am not sure why I have such a bee in my bonnet about them - are we all allowed 1 cookie meltdown a year?

Only one meltdown a year?  I do it far more often.  We really are our worst critics.  They are beautiful and the client will love them!

You certainly wouldn't be the first to redo an order! But,  As far as this order goes, I really like the picture you posted and I am sure your client will be pleased!

The reason we love cookie art:

Good!

lol I meltdown every time I decorate.  lol  I like your post, the pic.  Well done!  PS  I don't give decorating suggestions or advice or what I think would be better.  Too bad I deleted my pics.  If you saw them you'd agree for me to keep my opinions to myself.  lol  hahahaaaa  God Bless!

Oh Donna you have made me laugh Thanks for your kind words. I am sure that I wouldn't say that at all - we definitely are all our own worst critics. Thanks so much for making me grin

The lady I made them for put a pic of them on Instagram today and said "We love Lille Kage Hus" - so it seems it all worked out in the end - hurray Bless you all for kindly putting up with my mutterings!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

I'm with you. I have a meltdown almost every time I decorate.  All I can see are the flaws.

Oh thank you! That's lovely of you. Yes I think some texture or detail would have lifted them too - you live and learn Luckily she seemed very happy so I will try not to freak out again in future hahaha

I think they look perfect Marie! All those little dotted edges! And the clouds & the arm! (I hate body parts!) I must admit I'm crap at perspective - if you want to be totally picky - apart from a slight lean (it could've been REALLY windy!) I think NOTHING is wrong!!

The thing is, most recipients don't see these minute things that keep us awake at night. They see that it's a cookie & you've produced these images on them. On a cookie!! How amazing is that??

I hope you packaged them up & enjoyed the reaction of the recipient!!

Thank you Kris! (yes I hate body parts too) I did package them up and you're absolutely right, we notice all these tiny things and luckily most customers don't.  (thank goodness for that haha)
