It's like Christmas for me each month when I first see our Practice Bakes Perfect Challenge #13 winners' art hit the site's banner and backdrop. I never know quite how the backdrop will reveal until it is actually in place, but I never cease to be pleasantly surprised. And this month is no exception.

Our lovely March art, entitled "Timid Spring", was created by Stefania Onano of Sweets_by_me, a self-proclaimed newcomer to cookie decorating (though you'd certainly never know it from the perfect looks of these cookies). I love this entry's striking colors and styling with complementary embroidery. It's certainly doing its intended job of making me yearn for spring!

As a reminder, each of our monthly site art winners will be featured in an in-depth Cookier Close-up interview! Stefania's interview will post in the first week or so of March, so stay tuned. She'll be telling us about cookie traditions and trends in Sardinia, her home; how she learned this craft so fast; and how she juggles cookie decorating while being a student of modern language at the University of Cagliari.

Also, if you missed Challenge #13, but would like your own cookie art to be considered for use on the site after our challenge winners have run their course (by the end of 2016), I would love to see it at any time. Guidelines for submitting cookie art can be found here.

***** UPDATE ON MARCH 9, 2016 *****

Woo hoo! Stefania's Cookier Close-up has just been posted! Read it here.

Congratulations to you!  One day I'll get the courage to put some of  my cookies in the mix.  : )  I would love to make flowers like that and I'm gonna see how it's done!

Thank you, Nancy! As I was explaining in my cookier close-up, it was the first time that I made rosettes; you should try ❤
