Thanks again to Manu for adapting some of her photos from her recent (and completely stunning) water lily tutorial to fit our banner and backdrop! Lucky us, they'll be gracing our site throughout the entire month of July! They look absolutely splendid, don't they?!

July 2018 BannerBackground 2 USE

As noted in last month's site art post, I am now officially out of site art for the rest of the year, and I would love to feature YOURS! Getting your art featured is easy - you can work with existing photos and just crop them to fit. And, if they don't fit perfectly (as was the case with the lily background, above), seams down the middle are okay, as they will almost always be covered by the body of the site. To learn more about how to prep your photos for our banner and backdrop, and how to submit, click here and here. Remember: Site artists not only get their work featured prominently for a full month, but they also get profiled in a forum post (like this one) and in an in-depth Cookier Close-up interview. All considered, it's a lot of great free PR in exchange for a little photo cropping!

As you're mulling over the prospect of submitting, please take a moment to thank Manu for her contribution this month. And, if you don't know Manu, please also review her bio below and check out her impressive array of Cookie Connection tutorials here. Thanks! I look forward to featuring YOU in the coming months!

Manuela Pezzopane, affectionately called Manu by her friends and family, is the author of the blog feature Made by Manu, where each month she shares the method behind a magical cookie of her own making. A fan of everything handmade, Manu professes to have tried every possible hobby. However, it wasn’t until the end of 2014, when an American friend invited her to a Christmas cookie exchange, that she first discovered decorated cookies. In 2015, after watching Julia M. Usher's videos and signing up on Cookie Connection, Manu finally attempted her own. Since then, cookie decorating has become Manu’s passion – one that she continues to develop by actively participating in the challenges hosted by fellow Cookie Connection contributor Bakerloo Station. Married with two children in college, Manu harks from Rome, Italy, but currently resides in Dubai. Yay for Manu and another lovely site-background! Looks fantastic! ♥

btw submitted two designs some time ago already. Maybe it's something that would work for you.

Great, @Former Member! I apologize for not seeing your submissions sooner (I've been incredibly overwhelmed with work and cannot see straight obviously). But I see them now, and I think they could work quite well over the next couple of months. Could you please email (sweetlife@juliausher.com) both banners and backdrops to me? (If I download them from the site, they often lose resolution - because of compression when uploaded to the site.) Thanks again! Can't wait to see them on the site!

@Former Member - I just downloaded the images, and the backgrounds are only 800 x 500 pixels, about half the size we need. So I'll need larger versions of those too, if you have them. Otherwise I might have to patch things together, and it's always better not to have to patch. Thanks!

The images here are smaller, that's right. But the ones I have sent via mail should have the right sizes. If not, please let me know and I will fix it.

I haven't received anything via email. When did you send? Can you try again? Thanks.

@Former Member - Never mind, I found them in my junk mail for some reason. The image sizes are perfect. Thanks! I'll probably run one next month and the other in October.
