I'm not sure if this is possible, or if there would be an interest, but I've been on other forums where a real-time chat has been integrated into the front page of the site and I think it would really bring members closer together as far as socializing. It seems like the real-time chat is pretty hidden and underutilized at the moment since you have to make it a point to actually get there. If it was on the main page everyone who comes through could pop in and simply say "hi," link to a page/forum that needs attention, ask a simple question without needing to create an entire subforum or post, etc etc.

Just a thought!

[EDITOR'S NOTE: PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION IN THE POLL BELOW, SO I (JULIA) CAN GET A CLEARER GAUGE OF MEMBER INTEREST. FEEL FREE TO ELABORATE IN THE COMMENTS TOO.]

Nice idea, but I don't have the capability to move a feed of that sort onto the home page right now. If people like this idea, they would need to vote it up here, and then I would submit the suggestion to Hoop.la (site tech guys) if there was enough member interest. Hoop.la would then determine if there was enough interest among their member sites before they would develop it at no cost to me.

The best I can do right now is provide a link off to the live chat area that is already open 24/7 under the Chat area of the site. I'll work on setting that up in the next few days and see if it actually drives anyone to use that area. So far, the area hasn't been utilized at all, which could be because of its location on the site . . . or not.

I've also added a poll to your question, Mallory, so that I can better gauge the amount of interest in this feature. Thanks for the suggestion!
