Hi, all! As you may or may not have noticed, the site recently underwent an upgrade which did two things:

1. Streamlined Look of Email Notifications: Now, your email notifications will look a little cleaner and more modern. Additionally, for a new content notification, the subject of the email will match the title of the post. And a notification about a comment to that post will have the same email subject. Hopefully, these subject changes will make it easier for you to decide which notifications are most important to you, so you can read them first. Below is a sample of a notification I recently got when I posted a test clip (aka photo) to test this new feature. This email is the one that automatically gets sent by me any time you post to remind members of site copyright rules. Note that, in the footer, I've also added my favorite mantra, "Live sweetly. Cookie completely."  You'll now see similar notifications about any clips you've posted or any areas of the site (like the blog, for instance) that you follow.

For Site Post1

For Site 2

As a reminder: To change your notifications setup (what type of content you follow and how frequently you want it), just go to "Notifications" under your member profile icon in the upper right of the site (when viewing on a standard laptop.) Then follow the instructions there.

2. Gave Option to Move Cookie Connection to an Email Notification Digest Format: Basically, older sites like this one were given the option to move to a weekly or daily email digest format, which would summarize each member's notifications in one snapshot of content activity that would be received daily or weekly, rather than as soon as the activity occurred. I opted not to change how email notifications are sent, because I personally need to see most of my notifications close to the time they happen, not one day or a week later, in order to effectively manage and moderate the site. Plus, the current system allows each member to tailor his/her notifications to virtually any frequency s/he wants, from no notifications to many. I would imagine that most members would also like to retain this flexibility.

So, long story short, you will see no changes to how frequently you receive notifications from the areas of the site (about the types of content) you've elected to follow. You will only see minor cosmetic changes to how those email notifications look.

If you have any questions about any of this, just leave a comment below. Thanks!

Yes I find it clearer and neater. Your site is fantastic for professionalism, looks, and content. Must admit I have lost sleep trying to figure out how Sweet Prodigy does those those Spirograph cookies.  And I even had a Spirograph as a kid!  I would do a design and sit back amazed at what had ´happened’ and still did not know how it got there lol.  I read that interview about three times and I still cannot visualize it.  Any chance at all on an easy tutorial? (Oh please, please, please)

@Sweet Prodigy - See, I told you people would like a tutorial from you! What say you?  No pressure . . . just wanted to make sure you saw this. Thanks for considering.

I keep trying to reply and I think I get pulled away. We are neighbours- Ontario or Canada or city?  Nice to know.

I really really like your work.  Don’t know about your area but I am still going cautiously in public. My husband in particular is high risk but an in-class course might be something I could see in my future.
Maybe a tutorial like Julia has offered before but not if it compromises your trade secrets. Thanks for getting back.
