Crewel Flowers Plaque - Practice Bakes Perfect Challenge #1
My own mother was a master of '70s crewel embroidery and the saying (and tea towel!) is a nod to the fact that we are currently living 4,000 miles apart - she, in Chicago, and I, in London.

Seeing this brings back incredible memories for me. My Mom (who has been gone for nearly 36 years now) used to love doing crewel. I always said they call it "crewel" for a reason, I hated it. It was torturous to me. We always laughed about it. I'll do just about any other type of needle work, but not crewel. Thanks for the memories. Very beautifully done.

LeeAnn, I totally understand! This is my mother's 4-foot-long crewel viking ship that was my additional inspiration for this challenge. I never even tried to attempt something like this!
