Hmmm . . . if anything, my colors get darker (and more intense) when they dry. The sheen on top of the icing, of course, dulls to a matte finish unless you pop the cookies in a dehydrator, in which case, they'll dry with more of a satin finish.

But, no I've never had colors fade unless the cookies sat for many months exposed to light. Can't explain what you're seeing.
