I've tried every tip on here and every tip out there. Still get cracks in the centre of larger detail. See that 7 on the blue circle? I used quick dry RI. It went in the dehydrator. Came out onto wire rack and dried under a fan. Still cracks. I tried a layer underneath right in the middle where the crack would appear and it cracked instead along the sides. It is without doubt a surface tension issue but I can't figure out how to defy the laws of physics. 20180114_092228

Try thickening your icing or using a ready-made royal icing mix, like CK Products. The latter has stabilizers, so I see less cratering and dipping/denting with it. I sometimes use it in small, angular areas that I know will be troublesome; I use my usual recipe for all else and especially stringwork, as the CK mix has gotten very gritty recently.
