Julia M. UsherFounder and Host, Cookie Connection; Owner, Recipes for a Sweet Life
Not a cookie, but some of the techniques used here are readily applicable to them!
In previous videos, I showed the basic recipe for cast sugar and made some fancy keepsake sugar containers. In this video, I take the cast sugar idea up a notch (literally!) by showing how to make beautiful hanging bells for New Year's or wedding celebrations. (This year, I strung mine on high from my chandelier to make a dramatic centerpiece!)
NOTE: Cast sugar, though edible (it's what sugar cubes are made of), dries rock-solid. That said, this project is more for decoration than eating. The pieces are also rather heavy, so they are best hung from a rigid support (i.e., not Christmas tree limbs)!
