Thanks, it's a combination of granulated sugar and water that is molded to create 3-D forms, like the tops and feet of these bottles. Video coming soon!

Yes, it is, though I've seen some sugar skull recipes that call for meringue powder. I just use sugar and water.

I more often associate the technique with the making of panorama/diorama sugar eggs; you know, the ones that are hollowed out with little vignettes inside of them around Easter. That's how/when I learned the technique one year.
