Thank you. It was just very stiff icing that I used. I didn’t let it down or stir it up to smooth it. I make my royal icing very stiff. My college tutor probably wouldn’t have approved. We used to squeeze our icing through nylon stockings to very finely sieve it 🙈

It’s a nice effect- surprisingly uniform in texture for not being handled much at all.

Thank you. I’m still so new to cookie decorating so now I have looked close I thought how messed up it looked. I had a cake maker ask me to make cookies to decorate a cake with. It was my first time putting cookies on sticks  and when it worked I made some as treats. I suppose if I wanted to get the effect again I would try adding sifted powdered sugar onto a smooth stiff icing. I think I was just being lazy and dumped my very thick icing in the bag. I still have so much to learn 💕

I'd call it a happy accident - what you did looks good.
