What first drew me to decorating cookies was a challenge I took on to create finger desserts for one of our nieces who was getting married. They didn't want to have a large cake and asked for volunteers to make desserts to fill out the reception table. I started looking online for ideas about what I might make.
In my online research I found a lot of tutorials about decorating cookies. I hadn't given any thought to creating cookie art until I saw the amazing work of Julia Usher. Her tutorials were by far the most detailed of any tutorials I had watched at the time (2013). I became captivated and began to learn how to create some of the most basic techniques I saw online. I was soon hooked!
