This was my first attempt at dipping cookies in royal icing (vs piping). My inspiration for the dolphins was SugarBliss Cookie that did a blog on them back in 2013.
Very nice Joanie. I've been intimidated by this technique. Have you dipped cookies before? Do you find it a quicker way to flood and what kind of set up do you use?

A million questions and a million thanks. ; )
Thank you PIP. I asked ALOT of questions before trying it also!! I used about an 8-10 second icing that I colored and let sit overnight so the bubbles would come to the top. I held onto it upside down and dipped it in, rocking it back and forth. Then I pulled it up on one side first (otherwise you get this suction) and shook it to let the icing fall back down into the bowl. I turned it right-side up and shook it a lot. I put it down and popped most of the bubbles. The icing kind of evens out but I did notice on some cookies that it was not as even and appeared rippled. But, I've been told it takes practice. You just need to go for it haha!!

Thanks Joanie. I appreciate you taking the time to explain the technique. I'm going to try it.
I don't see any ripples besides, Dolphins have water rippling all over.
