This cake was inspired by the Craftsy class Delicious Decorations: Chocolate Flowers with Erin Gardner. I absolutely LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the class and can't wait to try different techniques with her unique method of creating chocolate flowers.
I used a candlestick for the base and a glass plate for the top. I glued them together using E6000 glue. Then I used a frosted glass spray paint as a basecoat and then regular spray paint in green. This cake used cake dummies so I could just set it directly on the cake stand, but if I'm using edible items I put a round of parchment and a doily to make it food safe. I'm a bit obsessed... I look for items at good will and yard sales and have made about 20 stands in various sizes and colors!
