First, I was practicing "dipping" rather than flooding the base cookie.  Lesson learned was to use thinner than my normal flood consistency.  I also practiced using the Gold Luster Dust for painting and learned that it needs to be more liquid than I originally thought.  Finally, I was practicing Royal Icing transfer for the letters.  I should have made them thicker.  I learned something from each technique that should improve with more practice!
