As one of the first cookiers mentioned, getting a round cookie was more difficult than I have imagined. I tried to get the icing right on the edge of the cookie and also with a small borders around it. For both styles, I held the tip just above the cookie and also a little further up from the cookie. I had as much luck (not good luck) with one way as the other. Some of the cookies were made on one day and some were made on the next day, with lots of humidity on that other day. Not a good thing at all. It made my icing a bit looser and sticky. I added more sifter confectioner's sugar. I thought it helped at first, but noticed that my icing kept "melting" anyway. I did make the large bright pink roses and the little red roses (on the white base) on wax paper, let them dry completely and then transferred them over. The other red roses (on the pink base) were a wet-on-wet technique. I don't believe my icing was of the same consistency and I had some trouble there, too. I do believe, however, that I really learned a lot with the various issues I had.
What a wonderful entry! I really appreciate the very detailed description that you wrote describing how you flooded your circles, and really like that you tried multiple techniques. The rose theme is terrific, and it looks like you got lots of practice making different kinds of roses in addition to circles. Well done!
