I decided to do a very simple cookie design this week for the food delivery because I had a rather busy scheduled for the rest of life. This was my plan at least. I chose a popsicle because we’re in the last days of summer. My sisters and a few others weighed in and thought it was essential that the popsicle have a bite out of it. My watermelon had a bite out of it but that is the shape of the cookie cutter. My popsicle cutter is whole. I tried to explain this but got a lot of pushback. So I gave in and created a bite mark with a small fluted mini-tart pan which, according to opinions I received, makes it personal. I am going to insert my opinion here which is that when anyone has ever offered me a popsicle, a cookie or a piece of watermelon for that matter, I have never said “Could you take a bite out of it first?” Not once have I said that. In any case, I gave the people what they wanted and the cookies do look cute.
I used Julia's @Julia M. Usher sugar cookie variation of lemon and cardamom and a lightly flavored lemon icing so it gave the cook a pop of summer flavor before the season ends.
The cookies also gave me a chance to play around with the airbrush. I want to get more comfortable (and better) with airbrushing. The repetition helped. I’m slowly getting a feel for it but know I have a long way to go. There is always something to learn!
They look so gorgeous!! I loved the bite and your creativity, once again, to obtain it! That recipe of Julia’s @Julia M. Usher sounds delicious, I’ll try it too!

Okay, I'm LOLing about this comment, "I am going to insert my opinion here which is that when anyone has ever offered me a popsicle, a cookie or a piece of watermelon for that matter, I have never said “Could you take a bite out of it first?” Not once have I said that." NOR HAVE I! But, I agree, they look pretty darn cute with that bite. The colors are also particularly scrumptious!

Thank you Julia. I originally dove into airbrushing with stencils. I didn't like my results and became frustrated. Now I am trying to work my way back in by starting at the beginning. I now believe there's airbrushing hope for me after all!!
I just love the airbrushed colors! Those popsicles remind me of my kids when they were little and would take a bite of something and then decide that they didn't like it. And put it back. 🙄😄

Lol. Well they do say that the first bite is always the best. I guess in your childrens' assessment, they assumed it was all downhill after that. 😂❤️
