Hi! I have successfully frozen fully decorated cookies before, but never with luster dust. Specifically, I am painting polka dots on these cookies using Rolkem Gold/Bacardi 151 and a paintbrush (on dried royal icing). I'm worried the freezing/thawing process could somehow affect (smudge, maybe?) the gold polka dots. Has anyone done this?

Hi, welcome to the site. I hope you enjoy it! I haven't tried this, but I never freeze decorated cookies. Hopefully someone else will chime in soon!
This might be late for your purposes, but my suggestion would be to do a test cookie in the style you're planning and go ahead and freeze it, then thaw as you normally would. Since no one else has responded with actual experience ....
My understanding is that you can freeze a cookie with any edible dust, but it may very well full the appearance. I'm getting ready to try it myself.
