I'm going to be operating under the Florida Cottage Food Law, and the label requirements are just the federal requirements. From what I'm reading on the FDA labeling and nutrition site, it sounds like, for the food coloring used in icing, I can list it as articifical color. But does anyone know for sure? Thanks.

Hi, Big Cookie Dream, Congrats on making your first post. I look forward to many more to come!
I worked under the Florida Cottage Food Laws for years and honestly never listed my colors on my labels whatsoever. I'm not saying that this is correct, I'm just saying that I never had any issues with my labels for years on end. I never had anyone contact me, check up on me, or basically govern a single thing I did while working in FL under the CFL.
Thanks. I'm finding that most people don't even know about the cottage food laws.
I'd say follow the laws as spelled out, though. There's no telling when someone will lay down the law, and, at the very minimum, you'll project yourself as a very professional enterprise.
Thanks Julia. I agree. I'd rather be safe than sorry.
This is what they give you so that's what you have to work with. I never even thought to put colors on mine. Hahah.
BUT, I did add on all of my social media buttons, logo, and stuff onto my labels. And always added "love" as my main ingredient.
