When You Don't Own a Kopykake

Thank you Julia,  I watch all your videos and purchased all the lessons that are no longer in circulation from Amazon love them all.  Really learning alot.  But, I do see these photos online of the cutest things that could go on a cookie.  And not being a freehand artist I am not sure how to get the designs on cookies.  Even from some generous cookie decorators that give you the template I am so lost as to how to get that template on the cookie. 

That’s the reason I bought a kopykake and later a pico.  I just bought the pico WiFi.  I’d say focus on learning new techniques that don’t make life easier wth a pico.  Wait until you know you have to have a pico.

Hi, Debbie! Thanks for the kind words. There are SO many ways to transfer images onto cookies. The Kopykake is nothing more than a clunky, big image projector. You stick the image (or template) you want into the window at the top and then the light inside projects the image onto any work surface, including cookies. Then you can trace over the projection with icing. But, as others above have noted, there are ways to transfer images without any major equipment investment, and there are smaller, more flexible pico projectors that many are now using instead of the Kopykake.
