Religious Art and Mosaics photo was my inspiration. After I saw the photo I searched other religious art from Istanbul and found many symbols some displayed above. The photo of Mary and Jesus you showed inspired the wood work frame and the mosaics were tantalizing to me as I have always wanted to do one. When I saw my spilled candy beads, I knew what I must do! The painting was in my mind and although it was not from the same country, I simply had to create it. I made only a small portion of the painting as many of the beautiful art I found was damaged and only a remnant of the art as it once appeared. I loved making this set. I felt I was honoring my best friend.

What a FABULOUS addition to the challenge!  The mosaic of Jesus is spectacular! I can't believe you got all those nonpareils to behave!  Well done!

Thank you! To be honest, it took the better part of a day (for just that cookie). But I was inspired and it was very fun!

That mosaic is incredible - you must have patience!

Thank you, dear!  Patience...yes. I have grown in it over the years. <3 God had his work cut out (making me so) though. hehe
