Love these. I think I will bake some and use them as displays for my mini cupcakes. Take a pic and send to my Daughter and see what she thinks about using them in her wedding when they ever set the date. lol

LOL! They ARE perfectly sized for mini cupcakes (that's the size of the wrapper on them, BTW), so I think they'll look great. Fingers crossed that they set a date!

Thank Julia. I may just make them for fun to use here at the house and be a great excuse for practicing. How long do you thing they will last being out on a counter or for using as a display. Would there be a way to preserve them? Just in case I have made one I cannot live with out lol

They will last many months. I have many of my cookies out and on display for long periods of time (in an air-conditioned environment when it is hot and humid) without anything on them to preserve them. Of course, the worst thing is humidity, as it will soften cookies and cause some 3-D constructions to fall apart, but none of the pieces on this cookie are standing vertically (all are stacked in a horizontal position) so it should be pretty stable even with humidity. (Unlike my Faberge eggs, which kept falling off their bases here in Italy this week, where it was quite humid on a couple of days.)

Okay thank for sharing that with me. I am guessing Gingerbread would be best if I was to leave them out for displaying purposes rather than sugar cookies.
I bet Italy is a really nice place to live, I have heard it is gorgeous there.

No, sugar cookie dough should be fine too for this project. I don't live in Italy (though wouldn't mind doing so AT ALL!!). Just visiting this week for some classes that I was teaching. I live in the US.
