Did you flood the cookie in a sand color, then take a fine brush to swipe in the white/cream an black colors?

Thank you Donna! That is done in the same way as the Native American Halloween cookies. But this time, I dragged a scribing tool just straight (do you call this action "swipe"?) through the white and black dots. Then I drew tiny black dots with a scribing tool when the icing was still wet. The icing is grey, made with black and a bit of brown.

Smiling at you Mint!

Yes, sort of - drag, swipe.  I used the word swipe because, even though I may have thought of the scribe tool, to me, drag wouldn't give that effect - ?  Smiling.  Perhaps I would be too heavy handed?  Using the scribe, for me/my thoughts, would almost bury the color into the base color; to me.  I actually thought you used a brush to gently swipe the color/s over the base color.  (I've done that by accident.  At least I thought of it as an accident.  lol)

Your artistry always amazes me.

Oh, I just love these cookies!! They're so beautiful and original. I love the pussy willows (at least that's what I think they are ) that you added. Gorgeous work, as always!!

The flooded base is meant to look like wool fabric though it was done in the same way as those cookies meant to look like craft paper

I made these cookies for Go Bo Foundation Bake Sale. They need to be about 3.5-4 inches and it was very different to me because my cookies are usually much smaller! I made the heart-shaped cutter myself and hand-cut squares.
