Other than summertime fun, the theme of this week’s cookie was reuse and recycle. So, I’m calling it Good Times and Zero Waste. I say this because the umbrellas are royal icing transfers made exclusively from left over icing from the past weeks. The cookie cutter was previously used in the brush embroidery Practice Bakes Perfect Challenge. The flowers are all left over royal icing transfers from the most recent challenge. And, for reasons I don’t completely understand, I had no left-over icing!
This cookie is also an ode to the recent Practice Bakes Perfect Challenges. The cookie looks like another food (challenge 39), the cutter was used in challenge 40 and the flowers are from challenge 41. As much as I spend a disproportionate amount of my time seeking Christine’s @Sweet Prodigy approval however, there was no way I could brush embroidery all 150 pineapples. 😂😘 Instead I used a yellow icing and airbrushed to highlight the texture.
Bravo, bravo, bravo!!!! So beautiful and I love how you used what you had at hand to create such lovely pineapples🍍!!!!! Excellent, once again, dear Lisa!👏👏🥰

Thank you dear Heather. I was thrilled to be able to use what I had. I try to waste as little as possible by making royal icing transfers but I'm not always 100% sure they will find a home. So happy it came together this time! Big hugs❤️😘
Thank you Julia. I wasn't feeling it at first but I was a bit exhausted. I left them out overnight to dry and felt much better when I saw them again in the morning. I love, love when that happens!
Perfect for summertime fun Lisa @LisaF! Another 150 cookies this week. You are incredibly kind and very ambitious!! It's always great to use up "old" royal icing from previous projects . I hate the thought of throwing it away. (I wouldn't have done brush embroidery on 150 cookies either. LOL) Your pineapples look really great and I love your umbrellas ❤️. You are amazing my dear friend! Hugs...

@LisaF Your pineapple drinks look delicious! Glad you were able to "upcycle" from previous challenges (brush embroidery aside 😀). Those lines on the pineapple have particularly caught my eye . . . perhaps there should be a complex geometrical pattern challenge. 🤔😂
Love the idea of using left over icing to decorate the umbrellas- makes each one extra special!
Thank you so much @E. Sherwood. I had fun with the umbrellas. Though I showed a picture of one to my sister without any context or cookie placement. I asked her what she thought it was and she said a space alien. 😂

Thank you so much dear friend @Cookies Fantastique. I will say, I felt a bit overwhelmed this week with pulls from all directions so I wasn't able to enjoy the process as much as I like to. I crashed yesterday and am feeling much more energized. I'll probably be keeping things much simpler this week though...😂😘

Aye yai yai. Christine @Sweet Prodigy, I have no doubt that you will come up with something to keep me joyfully distracted (and probably swearing) for weeks.
