Suncatchers are a great way to get a nice impression. Be sure us use some leftover cookie dough. It works well to release the black lines. You can use butter, or crisco too.

Leave the suncatcher on the scrap cookie dough for about 10 to 15 minutes.

Then take it off and wipe off the excess with a paper towel.

Repeat untill all the black ink is removed.

Use a warm, soapy, cloth to clean when you are ready to try it out.

Sorry, I must be coming into this photo out of order or something. But why is there ink on the suncatcher? Can't you just emboss the dough with a clean suncatcher?

Hi Julia,

When you buy these plastic suncatchers, there is a black outline on them. It will come off on the dough. I have soaked them in warm soapy water but that doesn't take it off. Some kind of grease works. Better yet, so far, pressing the suncatcher into an overworked piece of dough seems to work the best.
