Easter Gift Set

An Easter gift set for close friends who came to visit that we hadn't seen in 5 years. How fun to share many hours catching up together . But, it can also be difficult to see how disease and aging can affect those you love the most!! Seeing what Parkinson's has done to someone you love who's always been so vivacious and gregarious just broke our hearts. I wanted to do something special for them as they had made such an effort to visit.

I used a few of Julia's stencils (thank you, Julia, for so many beautiful stencils that often decorate my cookies ❤️).

It was fun to try and decorate a cake for them as well. Obviously, there's much to learn about this particular art, but what a blast!!! Here's my attempt at an Easter cake

Oh Carol, what a lot of mixed feelings, my dear friend! Yes, it is so hard to see how age takes over, and for some, in such a hurtful way. But I’m so sure your friends were as overwhelmed to share precious moments and memories with you too. You lightened their day in such a loving way with your beautiful cookies and gorgeous cake! That time together is engraved in your hearts to treasure ♥️

I can't believe all the little details on this set!  So creative and original Carol, I love them!  Hope you had a lovely Easter❤️

Thank you so, so much Laura @lulubakes!!! What I love to do with cookie decorating is add more variety and detail. Sometimes I carry it a little too far and don't know when to quit. It's a sickness...lol.  You are always incredibly kind with your comments. It means so much to me!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Hugs...

You couldn't be more right my dear friend @Heather Bruce Sosa!! Memories that are shared with those you love are treasures stored in our hearts forever ❤️. We've been close friends for more than 40 years. (Just writing that makes me feel really old. LOL) Sending lots of love and many hugs your way ❤️❤️❤️...

I, too get carried away and don't know when to stop!!  LOL  I have a lot of self-doubt and uncertainty and it drives me crazy!  You are equally as kind dear Carol!  Hugs! ❤️
