I decided to use the leftover cookies I had from the last batch of cookies for food distribution and see if I could use them for brush embroidery. The shape made me think of smoke plumes, which got me thinking of a genie lamp.
I think it came out just okay. I used royal icing transfers for the lamp. I did brush embroidery on the transfer then attached it to the cookie. The smoke billows were applied directly to the cookies.
It was a pretty small surface for me to work on and I'm really just not that good with intricate details or delicate work. (I'm a bit more go big or go home kind of gal. )
In any case, I like elements of all three but each could have been improved. It was fun to do though. Instead of three wishes I guess I got three cookies!
Thank you so much @Evelindecora. I would have liked to have been able to pull together the best parts of all three to make one but I really would have needed a magical lantern for that! 😂
Thank you @Dolce Flo. I cut off the corner of a ruffled square cookie cutter and tried to be inspired by the shape. It’s pretty trippy where the mind can take you !
I really like the smoke idea. Simple and effective. Great job
Thank you Kyra @Kyra Manthe. I couldn't get the smoke exactly how I wanted it. I probably should have played around with it more but I ran out of cookies!!😂
I'm glad you had leftover cookies. I like the idea of using royal icing transfers as it creates depth and dimension, and distinguishes the lantern from the wisps of smoke (which look great, by the way). And I the shape of your cookies really suits the design.

Thank you so much @Sweet Prodigy. I’m starting to enjoy trying to come up with an alt idea from a cookie shape. Sometimes it feels like I have too many ideas flying around my head and it provides me with a temporary air traffic controller. 😂😂
